The lights (or LEDs) on the front of your modem are a quick diagnostic tool. They tell you the status of your connection. While lights vary by model, here is a general guide to what they mean.

Power Light (💡)
- Solid Green/White: The modem is on and has power. This is normal.
- Off: The modem is unplugged or is not receiving power. Check your power cable and the outlet.
- Solid Red: The modem may have an internal issue or is overheating. Try unplugging it for 60 seconds. If it stays red, contact us.
Send/Receive or Upstream/Downstream Lights (↑↓)
- Blinking: The modem is trying to lock onto a signal from our network. This is normal during startup.
- Solid Green/White: The modem has successfully locked onto the signal. This is normal.
- Stays Blinking (for > 5 minutes): The modem is trying to connect but failing. This means there is a signal problem. Check that your coax cable is screwed in tightly, and then reboot the modem.
Online or Internet Light (@)
This is the most important light. It tells you if you are connected to the internet.
- Solid Green/White: You are online and connected to the internet.
- Blinking: The modem is connected to our network, but it's still trying to get an internet IP address. This is normal during startup.
- Off: You are offline. This means the modem has failed to connect.
- Solid Red/Orange: The modem has detected a problem and cannot get online.
WiFi or Wireless Light (📶)
- Solid or Blinking: Your WiFi network is active and broadcasting. This is normal. (Blinking often just means data is being transferred).
- Off: Your modem's WiFi signal is turned off. You can usually turn it on with a button on the modem, or by logging into the modem's settings.
Summary: What to Look For
- A Normal, Working Connection: All lights (Power, Send/Receive, Online, WiFi) are SOLID GREEN or SOLID WHITE.
- The Problem: If your "Online" light is OFF, BLINKING, or RED, you have a connection problem.
Solution:
- Check that all cables are tight.
- Reboot your modem (unplug power for 60 seconds).
- If the lights still do not turn solid after 5 minutes, please contact us
